Reporter Wayne Hereford spoke with several locals about braving the roads to get some much-needed essentials.
A lot of stores in our area were closed today but some of them were open.
Wayne hereford went to one local grocery store were employees worked get the store open to be there for customers despite the frigid weather.
(say if open) the manager here at todd's big star in tupelo told me that he and the owner took their four-wheel drive trucks and picked up employees to open the store.
Once it opened, people came and got their groceries.

Jazzy leggon and her fiance' corey braved the bad roads to pick up some things at the grocery store.
But they did not find everything they were looking for.
"no milk , and no light bread.
But everything else was yeah.
No milk no light bread."
Others came in to search for food today.
