‘Disha Ravi’s age irrelevant; procedure followed in arrest’: Delhi police chief

Facing criticism for allegedly not following procedures in the arrest of activist Disha Ravi, Delhi police has now defended its action.

Delhi police commissioner SN Shrivastava said that age is irrelevant and the law is the same for a 22-year-old or a 50-year-old.

He also said all procedures were followed in the case.

The Delhi police chief’s remark comes as the Delhi Commission for Women also sent a notice to the police over the case.

Protests have also been held in Bengaluru against the arrest of the activist in the ‘tooklit’ case linked to Greta Thunberg.
