"* the countdown is on to march 1st.
That's when the new united express service will have its maiden flight to chicago o'hare from here at mason city airport.
Doing business as sky west airlines ?
"* the jet service will have 2 flights per week to o'hare.
The jets will have 50 passenger seating ?
"* compared to the 8 passenger seats the current air choice one planes use.
Airport manager david sims says the change will make air travel "air choice one has been a great company to work with, but they are a smaller company, and there are some limitations to it.
We hate to see air choice one go, but we believe that selecting sky west and united express will be a good thing for the community."
"* passengers can buy tickets online for flights beginning march 1 and after.
Sims tells me that those air fares are competitive, roughly 167 dollars round trip.
Live at the mason city airport ?
"* alex thank you alex.
With larger aircraft, increased passenger travel is likely.
Sims says the security setup will stay the same ?
"* though renovations may be needed to accomodate expansion.///
