When basketball returns, oregon tech women's basketball coach scott meredith says the lady owls will be ultra competitive.

That is in part because of the 11 returners.

But the 4 incoming freshmen are part of a very decorated class.

One of them, jadence clifton, is this week's amateur athlete.

Now she will contribute to one of the most decorated freshman classses in oit history.

I always give one hundred percent no matter what and i think they will see that on the court.

Yeah, i am super excited.

çáátopic lineááÑ while receiving recruiting attention from states like hawaii, it was a very simple reason clifton chose klamath falls.

"definitly being so close to home.

Just, i mean it is about a 3 or 4 hour drive.

Just being close to family is a super big deal to me."

Family won't just influence the school she chose.

The number 35 that she will wear on her jersey at oregon tech.

"so, my dad actually wore that in high school here at del norte.

So, i thought it would be cool to honor him in that way since he has coached me my whole life.

I thought that was pretty cool."

That family supports everything.

Her dad justin has been her coach.

Her entire family has been involved in athletic endeavors."
