Watch: Amid China tension, Tibetans in India vote for Parliament-in-exile

Tibetans exiled in India due to Chinese occupation of their homeland cast their vote to elect members of their 17th Parliament, and choose a 'Sikyong'.

First phase voting was held in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala.

Almost 80,000 Tibetans registered to vote in the election which has 8 candidates competing for the position of 'Sikyong'.

The polls are taking place amid increased tension between India and China following the latter's military aggression along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.
