Oneida County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify a pedestrian who was fatally hit by a car in Westmoreland Wednesday, Dec.

30.

The oneida county sheriff's department is investigating a fatal accident this morning... involving a pedestrian... this afternoon... they are still working to identify the person who was walking and was hit by a car.

The crash happened on skinner road between tudman road and moore road in westmoreland just after six this morning.

The initial investigation shows a white man in his late teens or early 20's was walking in the roadway and was struck from behind by a car driven by tamara danyew of vernon, who was driving to work.

The sheriff's department tells us the man was wearing a black coat, pants and boots and was walking in the middle of the lane.

They add..

There are no street lights... and the driver was unable to see the walker until the last second.

She called 911 and attempted to perform cpr on the person until rescue crews got on-scene.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Intoxication and cell phone usage by the driver have been ruled out .

Because the walker had no identification..
