We know -- 15- hundred kentucky residents at long term care facilities -- and staff were vaccinated -- today alone.

But thats only a small portion of the pandemic puzzle.

44news reporter marisa patwa has a look at the vaccination plan -- at an evansville nursing home.

A new hope is on the horizon for residents living in long term care facilities with cvs and walgreens working to distribute vaccines to seniors as of monday at north river health campus in evansville -- leaders are days away from finalizing plans to start immunizations and 81-year old leon schultheis -- whose brother also lives with him at the facility and survived covid-19 -- is glad his age group is finally getting help when -- they are at such a high risk for the virus "i'll be tickled to death when we get it.

We have a lot of veterans in here -- and one guy that i am very concerned of -- he'll be 101 years old come in february -- we're very -- i'm very close to him."

While residents and staff at hamilton point in newburgh started vaccinating residents and staff on monday now at hamilton pointe, they actually went room to room vaccinating those residents.

And here at the the north river health campus, they will actually be setting up a one day clinic in their community room.

"anything that we can have -- especially something like a vaccine they can assist us with preventing future positives -- is going to be great."

While seniors are glad their fellow caretakers are also getting their chance at a shot of hope?theye done everything to save lives here -- and theye done a wonderful job?

As of tuesday -- one hundred twenty staff members and residents have signed up to get vaccinated at north river.
