The first presidential debate of 2020 will kick off on Tuesday, Sept.

29 at 8:00 p.m.

Of 2020 is just hours away.

Both candidates have spoken about what they plan to accomplish, as they try to convince undecided voters to support them.

Fox news correspondent lauren blanchard reports from cleveland.

The coronavirus pandemic forced the debate commission to make big changes and political analysts say this debate could be the most pivotal event in the 2020 campaign.

Trump says: "we have a debate coming up, it'll be interesting, it's like going into a match same kind of thing, a little bit less physical."

Reporter says: "what do you feel like you have to accomplish to be successful on tuesday, what do you have to do to win the debate?"

Biden says: "just tell the truth."

Final preparations are underway for the first presidential debate of 2020.

The debate location moved from indiana to ohio due to covid-19.

For weeks, the candidates have eyed this date, hoping their performance can win over any undecided voters.

The topics expected are both candidates records, the supreme court, the coronavirus pandemic, the economy, election security and race relations in america.

Hume says: "i think that the president will do everything he can to try to throw biden off, to make it difficult for him, to confuse him."

Ford jr says: "which candidate offers the most compelling and easy to understand economic and health care vision....i think the country is going to be looking for more of that, and i think the candidate who does that the best will be rewarded the most."

Other changes this year - a small live audience.
