Governor Holcomb and the US Administration of Children and Families made the announcement on Thursday.

The excitement at this morning's press conference was tangible.

Governor holcomb and the assistant secretary of the united states administration of children and families lynn johnson spoke.

They highlighted the accomplishments of the hoosier state...and how indiana has separated themselves in child adoption governor holcomb spoke about the many accomplishments of the indiana department of child services.

Not only that... but he highlighted the fact that in the last year...just under 25 hundred children have been adopted.

That ranks them first in the united states that's right.

Assistant secretary for the united states administration of children and families lynn johnson said..

Out of the 49 states receiving cash incentives from their administration...indiana was at the top of the list.

Governor holcomb was presented with the adoption and legal guardianship incentive award on behalf of indiana.

It' was worth nearly 5 million dollars!

Both johnson and governor holcomb say this just proves how seriously the hoosier state takes giving children a forever home.

"every child more than deserves to have a family who will love them and support them forever."

"we want to make indiana the most adoption friendly state in this nation.

And i will honestly say i think you are on the way to do that."

Johnson says indiana is truly leading the charge when it comes to child adoption.
