Leaders at Clegg found the graffiti last Tuesday.

The team at The Happy Housekeeper & Co.

Volunteered their time to clean it up in honor of a lost loved one.

At clegg memorial gardens is mostly gone thanks to the efforts of a local housekeeping team.

And as news 18's anna darling found out, the family who volunteered their time has a special connection to the nature preserve.

"there's some spray paint if you know anything about that and i said, we don't but we will and we did."

That was almost two months ago when the team at happy housekeeper and co stepped up to help clean graffiti off the tippecanoe county courthouse after racial protests.

And that gained knowledge came in handy on monday at clegg memorial gardens.

/nat/ "some point tuesday night some individual or individuals came out here with some spray paint graffiti'd the pillars here, a couple trees and some other spots on the property" niches executive director gus nyberg says it's disappointing.

"we want people out here, its the focus of the organization but you just hope that the people that utilize the lands can be respectful of them " but that's where this team of four determined women stepped up to help.

"one of my team members, jacy, she saw it.

She's been out here with her and her siblings came out here.

She sent it to me and i was like set it up" one of her siblings is 16-year-old kyle richardson.

He was one of the harrison high school students killed in a car crash on a wintery morning this past february near lovetree lane.

They say kyle loved coming out to clegg to enjoy nature.

Vanessa ( chali-fu) chalifoux says she knew her team could help the place that meant so much to their lost loved one.

/nat/ "kyle was all about the outdoors.

I'm hoping that this is part of the healing process because that stuff is still pretty raw, he was just 16" their efforts paid off throughout the steamy and humid afternoon with much of the graffiti scrubbed away, and they say they felt kyle with them the whole time.

"an amazing kid..ray of sunshine and we miss him.

Well you've got lots of sunshine out here today right.

Yup, this is for him, this is for you kyle ray" anna darling news 18 anyone with information about who is behind the vandalism can reach out to leaders at niches or to the local police.
