A man led several police agencies on a nearly 90-mile pursuit Wednesday.

Chase into blue mountain lake.

And the suspect, who was arrested, is not in jail.

Good evening kristen...this chase began as a stolen car on whitesboro street....and the suspect told police all he wanted to do was quote swim in saranac lake.

This all started around 1030 wednesday morning.

According to authorities, the suspect 29 year old eric baker of pittsford, which is out near rochester...involun tarily left the mcpike treatment center on court street...town of webb police chief ron johnston tells me baker said all he wanted to do was go to saranac lake and swim.

State police say he assaulted a woman at this gas station on whitesboro street, he then ran her over and dragged her with the car.

She was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
