New Solar Material Cleans and Purifies Drinking Water

A new solar material that could clean drinking water has been developed.

Researchers at New York's University of Rochester, with funding from the U.S. Army, have developed a new aluminium panel that more efficiently concentrates solar energy to evaporate and purify contaminated water.

Experiments by the lab show that the method reduce the presence of all common contaminants such as detergent, dyes, urine, heavy metals and glycerin, to safe levels for drinking.
