Sunday Morning Weather
Sunday Morning Weather

16 WAPT Meteorologist Christana Kay has the forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

Happy Sunday, everyone.

The main issuethat we had this morning was dense, patchy fog in and around the metrothat's expected to burn off by roundnine at the latest.

Today, a lot ofthat fog has already lifted.

The denseis right now over towards Hinds County. That was around seven o'clock thismorning, again expected to burn off inthe next hour or so.

But todaytemperatures are gonna warm up toaround 80 degrees by nine o'clock willbe dealing with partly cloudy skies bymidday, so any type of pool activitiesis good to go.

However, we do have achance to sing some thunderstormsdeveloping by the afternoon into theevening hours.

Temperatures were goingto warm up to around the upper eightiesto low nineties, but we're gonna feellike the upper nineties later on thisafternoon.

Few developing thunderstormsfrom pork gifts and to Raleigh andSouth.

I think the main activity isgoing to be from the pine belt overtowards Natchez Port Gibson and thenmaybe a few thunderstorms in and aroundthe metro and then an isolatedthunderstorm possible up towards its Aqueen, a county towards Holmes Countyas well.

Temperatures take a dip alittle bit to around 86 degrees byseven o'clock.

We eventually taper offinto the seventies for tomorrow morning.Late shower can't be ruled out, either, but we'll start off the morning withpassing clouds, warm and sticky.

Onceagain, Um, and then we're back into theupper eighties low nineties for theafternoon, feeling like the uppernineties once again for your Monday. Now, the other stories we're trackingthe tropics s a hair and does nowherenear residences what we have beentracking the past week and 1/2.

So whatthat's going to do is going to make alittle bit of some wheat leeway forsome tropical activity.

We already havetropical depression number five in themid Atlantic.

That's expected tointensify into Tropical Storm Eduardlater on this afternoon into theovernight hours, and then we also haveanother developing low over into theGulf of Mexico.

It's a very low chancedeveloping in any to any type oftropical system, whether it's atropical depression or storm, but thisis going to move up along the Gulf ofMexico track across Georgia and theCarolinas, and then hugged the EastCoast.

So again, very low chance.Either way, it's going to be arainmaker, and some of the rain isgoing to affect us as well.

We'relooking at thunderstorm chances MondayTuesday as well as Wednesday as thislow starts to progress over towardsAtlanta and then in two parts ofGreenville as well.

But for us here athome, our main story is just going tobe the rain.

We can expect aboutanother inch to inch and 1/2 of rain byThursday.

Some spots with heavydownpours could get as close to twoinches of rain over the next week.

Nowwe still have a chance to sing itstraight thunderstorm Friday andSaturday, but overall, we're going tostay dry.

However, the main story goinginto next weekend is going to be.

Theheat will be in the mid to low nineties, feeling like 103 to 108 degrees
