(Part 2 of 2) An Ohio man has logged 60,000 miles in his jogging, but he doesn't use a Fitbit but calculates the old-fashioned way!

And we'll take a look at emerging African-American artists.

You probably have a fancy smart device or app to help you keep up with your steps.

An ohio man keeps track of his moves the old fashioned way and he's logged more than 60-thousand miles.

Tony zarrella has the story.

With each run, the mileage adds up.

Just like it's been adding up for more than 40 years.

How many miles has tom lehmkuhl covered?

"over 60,000.

More than 60,000 miles.

That's more than two times around the earth.

And he's not stopping anytime soon.

An activity he started for health reasons in south florida in 1978 quickly turned into a passion.

Very quickly.

He'd barely laced 'em up before he was running the 1979 orange bowl marathon.

"probably abou three months," lehmkuhl says with a laugh.

And yes, he finished, in 3:56.

That was the first of his five marathons, and multiple road races, but there was also a competition brewing within.

By the mid-90's, he was embarking on his own personal iron man streak.

"three consecutiv years of running three miles a day, every day, rain, snow, didn't matter.

And in cleveland, there's great weather to run in, in the winter," he jokes he's also run alongside some interesting people along the way.

Including, in the mid-80's, former senator al gore, in the nike capital challenge.

If you're wondering how tom keeps track of everything, well, it's all in his little notebooks.

42 years of personal stats, "i have a log boo for every year," lehmkuhl says.

"i shows how many miles per day i run, where i am for the month, where i am for the year, and it also shows how many miles i have on each pair of shoes i'm wearing."

Nowadays, he says, it's no longer about the times.

At least in his road races.

But twenty years ago, lehmkuhl added another passion, and this one also racks up the miles, and this activity he does clock.

Auto racing.

"both have thei strategy of the race," lehmkuh says, "although wasn't really pushing for wins when i was foot racing.

As i develop in my car racing, i am pushing for winning championships."

A new appreciation for art by black with the growing push for diversity and social justice, black artists are experiencing more interest in their work.

Through social media and other platforms these artists are reaching new audiences.

Naomi ruchim explains.

I've got over 200 orders in the last week and that was just one day in the midst of a national conversation about racial injustice, more americans are trying to support black owned businesses and artists.

Farmer appreciates the interest, but wants it to be genuine.

You hope that everyone values your work, not just for being a black artist, but because you're a person and have something valuable or something that they love.

Naomi standup black artists who are seeing more interest in their work hope it's more than just a trend.

At this art gallery in new york's chelsea neighborhood& gallery owner skoto aghahowa and artist osi audu have seen interest in african art grow over the last decade - but not enough.

Skoto aghahowa/ gallery owner: there's a whole big chunk of art coming from africa, the caribbean, the african america community that the larger art world tends to ignore.

A fact highlighted in a 2019 study of major art museums in the u-s& which found just about 1.2-percent of pieces were created by black artists.

A sobering statistic - which artists hope to turnaround.

Pirate pitcher steven brault teamed up with stars of the broadway show hadestown for a rendition of take me out to ballgame brault released a showtunes album 'a pitch at broadway' ... album of him performing songs from a variety of musical former baseball players ozzie smith and nick swisher also makes an appearance.
