Lego Pulls Advertising for White House and Police Building Sets On Thursday, marketing service Rakuten sent an email out on behalf of the Lego Group requesting a number of products to be removed from marketing.

The email said the changes were to be made “ASAP” in light of "recent events" occurring in the United States.

Rakuten, via 'The Toy Book' "Recent events” refers to the protests occurring in response to the killing of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, by a white police officer.

The products being removed from marketing are reportedly 31 different sets that depict scenes with police, firefighters and the White House.

The Lego Group later took to Twitter to clarify their move, saying digital advertising was only being “temporarily [paused]” and that the products are still for sale.

A day earlier, the Lego Group also announced that they would be donating $4 million to organizations that are dedicated to supporting black children.
