Horse Racing in Britain has been suspended since the middle of March due to the Coronavirus pandemic but is now set to return as the first professional sport to resume, starting early June but under fresh protocols.

The British Horseracing Authority is awaiting final government approval for the first meeting to take place.

Racehorse trainer Gary Moore knows a thing or two about the sport, he was a National Hunt jockey with over 200 career wins but retired from the saddle in the early 1990s going on to train.

Preparations were underway at his Cisswood Racing Stables in West Sussex for the anticipated meetings at Kempton.

Tuesday’s race card at Kempton, 2 June, has attracted a massive 454 entries – with Horse Racing action set to start up again the previous day at Newcastle.

In preparation for the Kempton meeting, Jockeys and trainers were putting the horses through their paces, out on the gallops.

They are ready and raring to go.

As racing resumes, all meetings will be behind closed doors, there will be no cheering crowds so it will be an unusual experience for all.
