COVID-19: People offer Eid prayers at home in Kerala amid lockdown

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in Kerala on May 24 amid coronavirus pandemic.

People in Malapurram and Kozhikode offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at their homes as mosques remain closed for devotees amid COVID-19 lockdown.

Mosques remain closed for devotees on this occasion in Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam due to COVID-19 lockdown.

Celebration of Eid will be different this year as large gatherings are prohibited and people have been asked to maintain social distancing.

Eid-ul-Fitr is also known as festival of breaking the fast which is observed during the holy month of Ramadan.

There are 795 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kerala.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases are 73,560 and 3867 deaths in India.
