New moon not sighted by Muslim clergy in Cape Town

Members of the Muslim Clergy and the Crescent Observers Society gathered at the Sea Point Promenade in order to sight the new moon, which would signal the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

As the new moon wasn't sighted, it means Eid would be celebrated on Monday (May 25).

The announcement was made by Shaykh Irfaan Abraham, president of the Muslim Judicial Council.
