Wants to make sure you stay safe this holiday weekend.

Especially if your plans take you to the water.

Starting tomorrow: the tehama county sheriff's office and the corning police department will be opening a new life jacket loaner station.

Sizes run from "infant" to "adult x-l".

Best part?

Borrowing a life vest is free!

And will be available year round.

We usually find boaters or people on tubes or paddleboards on the sac river that arent aware that law requires them to have life vests for adults readily available and children under 12 must be wearing them the sheriff's office says: the life vests will be inspected once a month for any tears or rips.

But to also prevent the spread of coronavirus: law enforcement says: they will be disinfecting and sanizting each vest.

The program is made possible through a partnership with the "sea tow foundation.#
