Study Finds Home Blood Pressure Cuffs May Not Be Accurate

Most home blood pressure devices sold in Australia, and possibly elsewhere, may not be accurate.

A new analysis has revealed that the machines may not have been validated for accuracy.

According to UPI, this could lead to misdiagnoses or inappropriate treatment and medication.

The analysis shows that just 6% of 972 devices available in Australia underwent testing to verify accurate readings.

The models tested include devices sold by e-commerce retailers like Amazon and eBay.
