Democratic National Convention to Be Postponed The convention was set to take place over four days in the middle of July.

Democratic officials have now confirmed the convention will take place the week of August 17.

Former Vice President Joe Biden had speculated earlier in the week that the convention would likely be rescheduled.

Biden is currently the Democratic frontrunner and the assumed nominee.

As of Thursday, more than 217,000 Americans have been infected with the coronavirus.

Johns Hopkins University reports more than 5,000 deaths.

On Tuesday, the White House Coronavirus Task Force released models that estimate more than 100,000 fatalities.
