Biden Says He Was Never Arrested In South Africa

During his campaign for the Democratic Nomination, Joe Biden said he was arrested during a 70's congressional delegation trip to South Africa.

On Friday, Biden admitted his recent claims were false.

Biden has faced scrutiny over the claims. He insisted he was arrested with former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Andrew Young β€œon the streets of Soweto.” The New York Times, Snopes, and The Washington Post found holes in the story.

" I wasn't arrested, I was stopped.

I was not able to move where I wanted to go.”
