The Big Issue Group has kitted out vendors with PPE and contactless payment equipment to allow their sellers to get back to work as of July 6. The Big Issue, which offers homeless and vulnerably housed people across the UK a means by which to earn a legitimate income, had to stop selling the magazine with immediate effect on March 20 due to the pandemic. As of today, 2,000 vendors will be back out selling the magazine across England, Scotland and Wales, for the first time in 15 weeks.

A heat-health alert has been issued as soaring temperatures saw the UK officially record its warmest day of the year so far.The Met Office tweeted on Wednesday at around 1pm that temperatures had reached 31C (87.8F) at Heathrow Airport.

London is likely to be hotter than Ibiza in the coming days, according to the Met Office. After a mild start on Monday, Britain is set to bask in Mediterranean temperatures, with the capital reaching around 30C (86F), which is two degrees hotter than the forecast for Ibiza.
