Crowd risk lives to collect spilt oil from crashed tanker-truck in western India

A crowd of people rushed to collect spilt oil from an overturned fuel truck in the west Indian state of Gujarat, risking their lives to loot the flammable cargo.

The incident took place on February 3 in the state's Kutch district.

Footage shows the mob, consisting of inhabitants of the neighbouring villages collecting the oil leaking from the fallen truck in the middle of a busy national highway.

The crowd is seen carrying buckets and empty plastic containers at the accident site to collect the oil as passing vehicles blow their horns to alert them of their presence.

Reportedly the driver of the tanker was uninjured in the crash.
