Thai mother-of-two finally receives treatment after enduring mouth tumour for nine years

A mother-of-two is finally receiving medical treatment after enduring nine years with a tumour ravaging her mouth.

Khun Tuen, 53, was pregnant when she was diagnosed with mouth cancer after suffering pain in gums which spread across her oral cavity.

Her cruel husband took off with their son and left her to give birth alone.

The single mother was unable to afford treatment while raising her child.

Khun Tuen has survived on the meagre family income of around 10,000 baht (250GBP) a month from her sister's shop selling snacks in Nonthaburi, Thailand.

But her face continued to swell over the years and become more painful, with the tumour growing rapidly.

Khun Tuen is now finally receiving help after local actor Bin Bunluerit visited her on December 23.

The well-known drama star, also the head of the country's Ruamkatanyu volunteer rescue group, has devoted himself to helping poverty-stricken countrymen battling illnesses.

Khun Tuen told Bin she was in pain every day from the mouth cancer.

She said: "I have been suffering with this for nine years.

When it first started, at that time I was also pregnant.

''My husband took my son and left me here with my sister after I gave birth to the baby.

"Doctors could not cure the tumour in my face while I could only take cannabis oil to ease the pain and help me sleep.

''I had given up all hope of being fixed but now I believe there is a chance.'' Bin gave her a 10,000 THB cash (252 GBP) and supplied medicine.

He also arranged for an appointment at the local hospital.

He said: "This illness is hard to cure and I could only support her daily expenses.

We will do everything we can to help her receive the treatment she needs.''
