Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola says Sergio Aguero will be out due to injury for a few weeks and is likely to miss next month's Manchester derby.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA, SAYING: "He'll (Sergio Aguero) be out a few games.

I don't know exactly - a few weeks.

But he'll be out.

Exactly (how long), I don't know.

[JOURNALIST ASKING: What type of muscle problem was it?] Here [touches right leg], in the tendon.

[JOURNALIST SAYING: In his thigh.] Here in front.

I don't know the name in English, but it will be a few weeks out." 2.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA, SAYING: "I think the derby is in two or three weeks?

[JOURNALIST SAYING: December the seventh].

In three weeks?

The seventh, two weeks?

I don't think so, we won't be ready.

Maybe we'll have a miracle, but I don't think so." 4.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA, SAYING: "Of course we're going to miss Sergio (Aguero) because we need him.

And unfortunately, we had a lot of problems this season with injuries - big ones with Leroy (Sane) and Aymeric Laporte.

But we are going to wait for him.

And meanwhile, we have Gabriel, we have (Raheem) Sterling who can play there in that position.

So, we are going to live without him for a while." STORY: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will be sidelined for a few weeks with a tendon injury that could rule him out of next month's Manchester derby, manager Pep Guardiola said on Monday (November 25).

A limping Aguero was replaced by Gabriel Jesus in Saturday's 2-1 win over Chelsea and Guardiola said they would need a "miracle" if the Argentine was to be fit for the Premier League match against rivals Manchester United on December 7.

Jesus said he was not happy about Aguero's being sidelined, but said he is ready to step in for the team.

In better news for City, Guardiola said Rodri and David Silva, who were also substituted due to cramps, are both fit to play while Oleksandr Zinchenko is still recovering from a knee surgery.

City are top of Group C with 10 points -- five ahead of Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb -- with two games to go.

Their final game is in Zagreb next month.
