Safe, Clean Drinking Water Remains An Urgent Election Issue For These Northern Manitoba Residents

When the Liberals formed government in 2015, then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised they would be the party to end all long-term water boil advisories by 2021.

Four years later, the residents for Tataskweyak Cree Nation say they’re still waiting on the feds to deliver.

The First Nation has been under a long-term boil water advisory since 2018 and is one of 40 in the riding of Churchill-Keewatinook, Man.

This time around, there are two Indigenous candidates running for election.

But voters are worried that no matter which party forms government, their demands for better infrastructure and safe drinking water will go unheard.
