A Reuters journalist captured footage of environmental activist James Brown being led through the airport by police and escorted into a police van.
Last December, unexplained drone sightings disrupted flights at London's Gatwick airport, and the Heathrow Pause group aimed to pull off a similar stunt to put pressure on the government to take tougher steps to reduce carbon emissions.
But Heathrow said it remained "open and fully operational despite attempts to disrupt the airport through the illegal use of drones in protest nearby." Heathrow Pause is a splinter group of the climate group Extinction Rebellion, which blocked streets in central London this year.
It had said it would fly the drones no higher than head height and had no wish to endanger life.

The UK has basked in the hottest day of the year so far at the mercury rose to a scorching 33.3C (91.94F) at Heathrow Airport in west London. Scotland also had its highest temperature so far this year with the thermometer reaching 30C (86F) in Prestwick. The heatwave is set to break with the arrival of thunderstorms bringing lightning strikes and downpours.

HSBC has suffered a 65% drop in pre-tax profit in the first half of the yearas Europe’s largest bank was struck by a dive in interest rates andcoronavirus disruption. Uber has joined up with Thames Clippers for the launch of its new service UberBoat. The service, which commences in London on Monday, will allow users topurchase tickets for Thames Clippers boats in advance through the Uber app andthen use QR technology to board. The payment will be processed using Uberaccount details. Passengers will be able to use the service across a fleet of20 boats on the River Thames, with departures from 23 piers across London.
