I am just trying to take day-by-day, and we will see in the end what is going to happen." STORY: It was about as star-studded a warm-up to the U.S. Open as you could hope for.
Women's tennis stars including Serena Williams and Simona Halep took part on Tuesday (August 20) in an event promoting young female athletes.
Located in Manhattan's West Village, a tennis court was adorned with the message, "Queens of the Future; Sport Changes Everything." The event was organized by Nike, and the participating players were decked out in Nike gear.
A total of 11 women professionals joined dozens of young women to participate in rounds of "Queen of the Court." The groups were organized by local community groups.
For the professionals, the event also served as a light moment in New York before the actual U.S. Open kicks off on Monday.
