EU diplomats fear Britain is heading for a no-deal Brexit as Boris Johnson has made clear he is determined to thwart attempts to stop the UK leaving by the Halloween deadline.

Officials in Brussels are said to have been shaken by reports that Mr Johnson’s senior adviser Dominic Cummings said it is too late for MPs to block a no-deal break on October 31.
