(SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW MANCHESTER UNITED SIGNING HARRY MAGUIRE SAYING: "It's a really proud moment for myself to join such a big club.
You always dream of walking out at Wembley and Old Trafford, they're the two big stadiums when you're a young kid.
"It's an amazing club, it's a club I've always watched, I've always looked up to when I was younger, and now I'm part of it.
The atmosphere in the stadium itself is just so unique, it's something so special.
"Experience is a big thing, you play a lot of games as a young boy and you learn, like I did in League One and moved up to the Championship, then went through the leagues, I felt like that really helped me.
"First and foremost, I see myself as a good defender, That's my main thing, I'm in to stop goals and keep a clean sheet.
"I'm really proud to be here, such a big club, and I'm really looking forward to getting started.
"I'm a team player, I'll give everything I can for the team and give everything I've got for this club." STORY: Manchester United have signed Leicester City's England centre back Harry Maguire on a six-year contract, the Manchester club announced on Monday (August 5).
"It's a really proud moment for myself to join such a big club," said Maguire in an official video released by United on Monday.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed but British media reported the transfer fee was in the region of 80 million pounds ($97.30 million dollars), making Maguire the most expensive defender in the world.
The fee eclipses the 75 million pounds Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk in January last year.
"Manchester United is delighted to confirm the signing of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
Harry signs on a six-year contract, with the option to extend for a further year," United said in a statement on their website https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/harry-maguire-confirmed-as-man-utd-third-summer-signing?t=y&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=image_post&utm_campaign=muwebsite&utm_content=190805hmsigning.
The 26-year-old becomes the Old Trafford club's second most expensive recruit after French midfielder Paul Pogba, who was signed for a then world-record 89 million pounds from Juventus in 2016.
Maguire, who helped England reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, had signed a contract extension to 2023 with Leicester last year and played 31 times in the league last season, scoring three goals.
