TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR MIDFIELDER, CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN, PARTICIPATING IN TRAINING DRILLS STORY: Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino told reporters on Thursday (July 24) he was happy with the squad and see the North London club as a competitive team during a news conference in Shanghai, ahead of the International Champions Cup (ICC) game against Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen was back in group training, after missing the pre-season match against Juventus in Singapore due to a "minor surgery".

Eriksen, who is linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona, is entering the final year of his contract at Tottenham and could leave for free next summer.

Last month, the Denmark international said he was ready to take on a new challenge.

Tottenham will take on their Premier League rival Manchester United in the International Champions Cup at the Hongkou Stadium in Shanghai on Thursday (July 25).

The tournament features 12 teams playing friendly matches in venues in North America, Europe and Asia.

Tottenham begins the new league season at home to promoted Aston Villa on August 10.
