The British actors brought guns and gasoline to London, without co-star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, at the special screening of 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw'.

Rough cut (no reporter narration).

Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby and Helen Mirren walked the "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" red carpet on Tuesday (July 23), without muscle-man Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson who was in Hawaii, according to Statham.

In the film Johnson and Statham's hardmen characters, lawman 'Hobbs' and outcast 'Shaw' respectively, who are rivals from the seventh film in the franchise must unite to stop a deadly virus and save the world - but not without trading insults along the way with comical results.

Some were improvised, Statham told Reuters, but joked that none overstepped the mark.

"My biggest insults will never make the silver screen, they are far too below the line.

But you could probably guess that," said Statham.

One of the most talked about lines from the trailer is Elba's genetically-enhanced soldier, Brixton, saying he is the "black Superman" - a title Elba takes credit for.

"You know that line was an improvisation in the middle of this maniacal speech that I was doing and then it made the film," Elba said.

"So I am excited that everyone loves it but there isn't going to be a black Superman." Director David Leitch is not so sure, but the "black Superman" line replaced the original James Bond reference that Elba was less keen for his character to say, according to British media reports.

"Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" is released August 2 in the U.S. and UK.
