It is just now 6:56... time to get you ready to monday in the morning sprint.

Caroline flynn is live in the nine mile area with a fun family event on the water... mark peterson is tracking temperatures warming up for the weekend.

But we begin with new firewatch numbers overnight... the cold creek fire near yakima is up to eight-thousand acres.

The fire started on state route 24 yesterday... and jumped onto the rattlesnake mountain.benton county fire district two posted to facebook at midnight that, due to calming winds, it no longer plans to burn the top of the mountain to eliminate a fuel source for the fire for now... and instead plans to contain the fire where it is currently burning on the north slope.according to the department of natural resources, the fire had closed state route 24 and state route 240 .... about two hours ago, we received word that those roads are open a rathdrum man died early yesterday evening when he crashed his motorcyle avoiding a flock of wild turkeys.

According to idaho state police... 52-year-old david bedford was riding west on state highway 53 when he swerved to avoid the birds... lost control... and crashed into a tractor trailer.

Bedford died at the scene.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

In seattle... the man who confessed to murdering a woman who disappeared ten years ago... took back his confession... and is now free.

Prosecutors dropped federal charges.

Nancy moyer hasn't been seen since 2009.

And earlier this month... eric roberts confessed.

Investigators searched his property... but didn't find evidence of moyer's body.

Detectives say the murder investigation is still underway... and roberts is still being investigated.
