Trump: Progressive Democrats Should 'Go Back' To Countries They 'Originally Came From'

President Trump slammed freshmen lawmakers on Sunday.

President Trump launched a scathing Twitter attack against progressive lawmakers in the wake of their recent spat with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the border bill funding.

"So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run," Trump wrote in a series of tweets.  "Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came," Trump continued.

"Then come back and show us how it is done.

These places need your help badly, you can't leave fast enough.

I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!" Trump's tweets appear to target Somali-born congresswoman Ilhan Omar in particular.

They come in the wake of a biting remark he made about her to reporters Friday.  "A group of people that came from — I don't know where they came from," Trump said.

"I'm looking at this Omar from Minnesota, and if one half of the things they're saying about her are true, she shouldn't even be in office."  Omar promptly fired back at Trump in response to that comment.

"If one-tenth of what they say about you is true, you shouldn't be in office," she wrote on Twitter.
