Trump Says He Does Not Want "Boots On The Ground" In Iran
Reuters reports U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he was “not talking boots on the ground” when asked about potential military action against Iran.
Iran suggested Wednesday that it was just one day from passing the threshold given in the 2015 international nuclear deal that limits its stockpile of uranium.
Last week Iran shot down a U.S. drone that it said was in its air space.
Trump refused retaliatory strikes.
The president said, “I’m not talking boots on the ground.
I’m just saying if something would happen, it wouldn’t last very long.” Trump has said the accord with Iran, which he infamously pulled the US out of, did not go far enough to restrict Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
