Iran Warns That Any Conflict In The Gulf Could Spread Uncontrollably
According to a report by Reuters, on Sunday, US President Donald Trump said that he was not seeking war after a senior Iranian military commander warned that any conflict in the Gulf region could spread uncontrollably and threaten the lives of US troops.
On Friday, Trump said that he aborted a military strike to retaliate for Iran’s downing of an unmanned U.S. drone because it could have killed 150 people.
However, Trump has said that he will impose further sanctions on Iran from Monday, while also indicating that he would be prepared to seek a deal to boost Iran's flagging economy in an attempt to defuse tensions.
Trump reportedly said, "I think they want to negotiate.
And I think they want to make a deal.
And my deal is nuclear.
Look, they’re not going to have a nuclear weapon.
I don’t think they like the position they’re in.
Their economy is, is absolutely broken.”
