China Urges Caution Following Tanker Attacks In Gulf Of Oman

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, China's foreign ministry said that nobody wants war in the Gulf of Oman, calling on all sides to exercise caution following attacks on oil tankers in those waters, and urging diplomacy to resolve differences.

The United States has blamed Iran for Thursday's attacks that drove up oil prices and increased concern about a US-Iran confrontation, despite Tehran denying the accusations.

China's foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said, "We hope all relevant parties remain calm and exercise restraint and avoid tensions further escalating, and hope all sides can jointly safeguard navigational safety in the relevant waters and regional peace and stability.”
