Trump Announces New Deal With Mexico, Optimistic With Results
President Donald Trump feels optimistic about Mexico enforcing a new immigration deal.
The deal would expand a controversial asylum program and boost security on its southern border.
According to Reuters, the goal is to keep Central American migrants from reaching the U.S. Mexico was forced to make a deal after Trump threatened 5 percent import tariffs on all Mexican goods.
Additionally, Trump said Mexico will buy “large quantities” of U.S. agricultural goods, which was hurt by trade war with China.
