We beat them." STORY: Manchester City received a heroes welcome back at their Etihad stadium late on Sunday (May 12) after wrapping up the first back to back Premier League title in a decade.

City had been pushed down to the wire by Liverpool as the reigning champions defended their title by a single point, 98 points to Liverpool's 97.

Liverpool broke a new record with their tally being the highest for any runner-up in the league's history.

City, who had not dropped any points in the league since January, beat Brighton 4-1 away to secure their crown.

Players danced and sang on stage as players took turns lifting the trophy to huge cheers from hundreds of fans gathered to welcome back their team amid a vibrant party atmosphere with fireworks dominating the skyline.

City will look to complete a domestic treble next Saturday when they face Watford in the FA Cup final.
