Egypt's Parliament Approves Constitutional Changes Granting New Presidential Power

According to a report by CNN, on Tuesday, Egypt's Parliament approved constitutional changes that will allow President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to tighten his grip on government and remain in power until 2030, as authorities move to block a growing online petition against the changes.

The changes to the 2014 constitution are reportedly expected to be put to a public referendum next week before being put into effect.
