The White House Floated The Idea Of Dropping Off Detained Migrants In Sanctuary Cities As Punishment For Democrats: Report

A new report from the Washington Post details the White House plan to drop detained migrants off in sanctuary cities as a punishment against Democrats.

??The Post report said officials in the White House introduced the idea twice...both times came when Democrats were strongly opposing the administrations policies at the border.

??One of the areas where this would’ve happened was in San Francisco...in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s district.

??According to the Post, the White House thought this idea would kill two birds with one stone, ??One, it would help with the limited space in detention centers and ??two, serve as a warning to Democrats on the Hill.

??Stephen Miller, the controversial immigration hardliner was one of the advocates of the proposal.

??One Homeland Security Whistleblower said quote, “What happened here is that Stephen Miller called people at ICE said if they’re going to cut funding you’ve got to make sure you’re releasing people in Pelosi’s district and other congressional districts.” ??ICE officials and attorneys thought the idea could be illegal and would be a PR crisis.

??CNN also reported that the President advocated for the plan, ??asking former DHS Secretary Kirtsjen Nielsen to execute it but she reportedly pushed back.
