ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi met European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Monday (February 18).
Pelosi was in Brussels to attend a two-day NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Pelosi had to cancel a previous planned trip to Brussels in January due to a historic 35-day government shutdown in December and January.
Pelosi was expected to meet the EU's top diplomat Federica Mogherini on Tuesday (February 19) morning.
The top Democrat in the U.S. Congress denounced President Donald Trump's declaration of a national emergency last week in an attempt to fund his long-promised U.S.-Mexico border wall without congressional approval.
Asked by reporters if she would file a legal challenge to an emergency declaration, Pelosi said it was an option.
