as well. newschannel 2's rachel murphy spoke with students and has more on the message they're spreading together. don and kristen.. we checked in with a few local school districts and they hope to show unity against school violence. nats of walking cart 1: some marched in the cold. others gathered for assembly. i'm an aunt, cousin, sister and daughter a friend. i will not be a bystander we will put an end to this. and some held group discussions.uthey all me together for one common message to end school violence. ken talarico student/organizer, notre dame jr./sr. high school this is a really serious issue and that if we don't do anything about it then we can't reasonably expect anythinto change. cart 3: students at notre dame high school held memorial prayed pictures of the victims of marjory stoneman douglas high school. hannah destefano senior at notre dame jr./sr. high school you don't really realize what's happening until it really hits home but i think talking about it in schools more, like having more things likethis like taking for actionh the student body. cart 4: students atauquoivalleys central high schools both took time to remember the victims and the survivors. both schools spent 17 minutes te minute for each of the victims killed in the florida school shooting. nats protect us kids, protect our kids protect our schools. cart 5: at octor hh school students held posters and shared messages, demanding change and action. maggie parker sophomore at proctor high school i think like many other student afraid it's an issue that is fine passion about sense since it's been in the news and i think i'm not alone here it's a seris issue and i think that many of us now falling apart when students are risingup and doing what we can e action. students in the new hartford school district are not being allowed to participate in an actual walk out, instead they held a student led activity. students at proctor tell me they plan to hold another walk out in the the next weeks, but not during school time. back to you. coming up.. on the live at five newshour-- the
