$1.4M Invested in Security Changes at Valley School Distric
Million dollars in "security changes" are about to be implemented in brownsvilled schools.
We're told most of the money - - will go towards hiring 21 additional police officers for the district.
Veterans and retired police officers are encouraged to apply for those positions.
Parents we spoke to - - say its a good start...but they want more.
"well i think they should put metal detectors at the doors, every door, and fence the schools that are not fenced and just have more security in the front" "mean it would be a good idea to have security cameras that way you'll know the time the car came in, the person would be idenified right away, if there's any children wandering around, you have cameras where securities can see inside the school" the new job openings are already being advertised.
The district currently has 38 officers on staff.
