Despite Ben Affleck’s recent drama, he continues to be a family man through-and-through, even when the night is celebrating him.
The actor reportedly received a humanitarian award at the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala in St.
Paul, Minn., where he addressed his ex-wife and daughter in his acceptance speech.
Us Magazine reports that the actor said, “When I told my oldest daughter that I was getting this award, she said, ‘Yeah Dad.
Mom already has that one.”
The humble acceptance didn’t go unnoticed though… The event reportedly raises millions of dollars to provide hearing aids for those in need, and Affleck was honored for his work with the Eastern Congo Initiative, which he’s been dedicated to since 2010.
Affleck has made 10 trips to the Congo, and recently wrote on his Instagram, “Every time I visit, I leave even more inspired there will be a brighter future and more peaceful future for the Congolese.
The challenges are real, and the road is long, but the Congolese are the hardest working and most hopeful people I know.”
Congrats to Affleck on his humanitarian efforts.
