Northern Ireland records 7,000 daily Covid cases as Boris Johnson hopes to ‘ride out’ current wave without further restrictions

Northern Ireland had an average of more than 7,500 Covid cases a day over one four-day period spanning the New Year, according to new statistics from the Department of Health.
