Tuesday 28 January, 2020Trinity Buoy Wharf’s landlords, Urban Space Management and Trinity Buoy Wharf Trust, are offering a free studio at Trinity Buoy Wharf and exhibition to an artist who would work on a site-specific project from April to the end of September 2020.

Trinity Buoy Wharf is a creative neighbourhood in Docklands, developed and managed by Urban Space Management. Home to London’s only Lighthouse, a vibrant creative community, a sculpture park, 2 event venues and 5 Container City™ buildings.

The opportunity:
Free, ground floor studio for 6 months and exhibition at the end of the residency
Up to £600 for expenses (paid against receipts)
Assistance with PR during the residency

The opportunity is open to any artist. There is no age limit.

Deadlines

Artists should apply online by 5pm, Friday, 28th
of February 2020. Shortlisted artists will be invited for an interview in early March, with residency commencing in April 2020 and end show in September 2020.

Since Urban Space Management took over this vacant site in 1998, Trinity Buoy Wharf has seen a stream of artists, photographers, designer- makers and small businesses settle in its low-cost workspaces and studios. Home to a thriving creative community of over 600 people, Trinity Buoy Wharf is a base for Royal Drawing School, English National Opera, Thames Clippers, Faraday School, The Prince’s Foundation, Parkour Generations and The Big Draw to name a few.

Trinity Buoy Wharf is committed to the growth of the arts and creative industries and has been hosting a number of art exhibitions and experiences since its beginnings in 1998. Collaborations and shows in recent years include the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize, Royal Drawing School’s End of Year Shows and regular exhibitions by Trinity Buoy Wharf’s tenants and students. Trinity Buoy Wharf has been hosting the National Portrait Gallery’s “BP Portrait Award” judging panel every year since 2014. Long running projects include the “Longplayer”, set in the former lamp room of the historic Lighthouse, ever evolving sculpture park by Andrew Baldwin, and a growing collection of art installations located around the site.
