Police are appealing for witnesses and mobile phone footage after a 14-year-old boy was attacked with a bottle on Perranporth beach.

The incident occurred at around 6pm on Friday 17 July in the area of the rock pools.

The boy was attacked after confronting a member of a group – consisting of at least two men and three women, drinking whisky – after he threw a plastic cup into a rock pool.

Then, one of the women and two of the men assaulted the boy causing a laceration to his head and ear which required 11 stitches.

The group are described as having London accents.

The man who smashed the whisky bottle on the boy’s head is described as being a white male, around 20 years of age, with blond hair, of stocky build and around 5’9” in height. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts.

The other offender, who hit the boy after he’d been hit with the bottle, is described as being of slim build, around 5’7” in height and wearing a light blue top.

Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to help identify the offenders, including mobile phone, dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time, to get in touch.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/057915/20.
