More than 1,700 people were assaulted unprovoked by a stranger in past year, Vancouver police review finds

The majority of people who were victims of unprovoked assaults by strangers in the past year were simply going about their day, the Vancouver police said this week when announcing the findings of a case review that found approximately 1,555 such assaults occurred in the city between September of last year and the end of August.
